"The Letters" is a book written by two authors. Luanne Rice and Joseph Monninger. It is a book of letters written between husband and wife on the brink of divorce after the death of their son. The husband travels to Alaska to see where the plane went down that killed their son, and the wife rents a cottage on an Island off the coast of Maine. Their letters to each other are compelling, enthralling, and so beautifully written, that you forget that you are reading fiction. Ms. Rice's description of the Maine coast is so wonderful, that you want to go there... even though she is there during the fall, and the weather is not the best. Mr. Monninger's tale of traveling by dog sled through the Alaskan wilderness will give you a chill.. both physically and mentally. Rarely do I cry when reading a book anymore, but at the end I cried... with them and for them. This book is a must read.
A little late in my reply, but "ditto". Lovely blog you have.
